Supporting Your Journey

Hello friends,
Are you just starting out on your sewing journey? Do you ever feel intimidated and confused, wondering if you're doing things the "right way"? These feelings are completely normal, and I wanted to reassure you that you are not alone.
It's easy to feel overwhelmed when you compare yourself to the high standards of haute couture houses. They hire seamstresses with professional training from the top fashion universities. Even then, they don't consider a seamstress fully "capable" until they have completed at least 5 years of rigorous full-time apprenticeship, and they are taught by, and surrounded by the most experienced hands!
I'm sharing this so you don't get down on yourself! Mastering couture sewing takes time and dedication for everyone. I built this community so you would have a judgement free place to ask questions, get advice, share resources, or simply talk sewing. Consider us your support crew for this rewarding but challenging craft. We have the monthly Couture Cafe coming up, where you can join us virtually to ask questions or share your sewing project. We have mentorship opportunities available through the Atelier. The online courses are beginning to be developed, they will be an excellent resource for learning. This Couture Forum is available for you to hop on and share your wins and struggles. In other words, you are not alone.
Progress isn't linear. Celebrate your small wins, learn from setbacks, and focus on growth over perfection. Most of all, find joy in the creative and learning process and your wonderful connections formed along the way. You are in excellent company here and don't be afraid to use this platform as an interactive resource!
