Have you heard about the Clo3D Program? Is 3D design the future of fashion?
Hey fellow forum members, I recently came across a fascinating certificate program that teaches you how to use Clo3D, an industry-standard fashion design software that allows you to create virtual 3D samples, eliminating the need for traditional sewing studios and reducing material consumption. It seems that 3D design is making its mark in the fashion industry, and I'm curious about your thoughts on this.
Have any of you heard about this program, and do you believe that 3D design is the future of fashion design? Are any of you considering getting certified in Clo3D? If you're already certified, I'd love to hear about your experiences and how it has impacted your work in the fashion industry.
I'm excited to hear your thoughts on this and whether you think 3D design is the future of fashion. Please share your opinions and experiences if you're already certified or considering enrolling in this program.
Looking forward to your responses!
I am lucky enough that I have had a little training and have access to this program on an ongoing basis. I have a background in computerised patternmaking (Gerber and StyleCAD) so CLO3D is a good extension of that, but I will say that I am not impressed by the pattern side of it yet - I'm finding it easier to pattern in other programs and then upload to CLO to create the 3D, rather than pattern directly in the CLO program. But this might change in time as I get more familiar with it.
My goal is to eventually recreate historical garments from books like "patterns of fashion" into CLO and create a library that my costume students can use and expand on.
It's one of the things that drew me to the Couture Pattern Museum - seeing the CLO render on Instagram! I think it's a great way to show people how the garment goes together
