About the event

Most people remember Vogue’s editors-in-chief Diana Vreeland or Edna Woolman Chase.
Few remember the editor between them: Jessica Daves.
Daves shaped the 1950s Vogue era with a focus on culture, art, ideas, and intellect. Author Rebecca C. Tuite wrote the definitive book on Jessica Daves’ career at Vogue. We are hosting a live conversation with her on Zoom.
Many couture patterns in our archive appeared in Vogue during Daves’ years. Our first exhibition, Paris Night Looks, was based on dresses published in her Vogue.
This event places the designs from the Couture Pattern Museum back into their original editorial context.
