About the event

Join us for a rare and insightful presentation with Lisa Cipriano from Siegel & Stockman, the legendary Paris-based mannequin house supplying haute couture ateliers for over a century. Founded in 1867, Stockman is the gold standard for professional dress forms, used by the great couture houses including Dior and Chanel.
Lisa will share the history and evolution of the French mannequin, how form and function have shaped the practice of haute couture, and why Stockman’s legacy continues to anchor the fashion industry today. Many of the couture patterns in our museum collection were draped on Stockman forms, making this an especially meaningful session for our members.
This event is part of our ongoing Community Connections series.
