Our museum proudly houses a remarkable piece of fashion history—an exquisite Balmain Haute Couture dress from circa 1955/1957. This majestic cocktail or ball gown embodies the essence of Balmain’s design philosophy. What You Will Learn: 1. Couture Techniques: Students will have the opportunity to study and appreciate the meticulous craftsmanship behind this couture masterpiece. From the pleated satin detailing on the chest to the corolla skirt with layers of tulle and taffeta petticoats, the dress showcases couture techniques at its finest. 2. Embellishments: Explore the art of embroidery with this dress, which features rich satin stitch embroidery inspired by the Age of Light.
