Availability of Patterns in the Database

Many of you have asked if patterns are available to purchase or access from the database. The answer is, yes, but with a caveat. The museum makes its collection available only for educational purposes. Currently, the patterns are available by taking an in-person class through our one-on-one mentoring program. Also, if we have enough participants for a “sew your own selection” retreat, your pattern of choice to make will be provided for you.


Starting Dec 1, 2022, we are testing a program to be able to allow those who’ve enrolled as a Founding Member, to have access to the database and to order a pattern from our archives. This program is meant to truly be a support for haute couture fans and sewists, and to be used as a springboard for one’s couture education, while supporting the activities of the Couture Pattern Museum. It has been difficult coming up with a program to protect against the risk of database theft or from pattern resellers.


We recognize not everyone can afford the monthly fee, so we are working hard to provide access in a variety of ways: we will be expanding our educational offerings to include digital video classes that come with a pattern to download.

We are developing additional programs and educational opportunities, so please keep checking back and engaging with us on this site.
